Illustration Friday "Spotted"

Spotted ladybugs spotting an imposter.

More art play time for me. I've been so focused on building my portfolio for so long that I haven't let myself experiment. When I started to put together samples to send to publishers, I stepped back and thought "hmmm... is this the style that I want to put out there in the world? Do I want to be doing this kind of art ALL the time." And I found the answer to be a firm "maybe." So today I sat outside on the porch of a beautiful old historical southern plantation style house where my daughter was attending a birthday tea party on a glorious spring afternoon and scribbled with ink. Then I came home, sat on my small but friendly porch and scribbled with water color. The result is not what I would call spectacular but it was a fun experiment.

oh yeah, keep up the experimenting. Did a little myself this time, and though not totally happy, I'm getting somewhere I think I like. You may too! I really like it!
